Our Mission
To promote financial resilience and digital inclusion amongst girls and young women and enable them to challenge oppressive and discriminatory practices. We strive to be girls and young women centric where they can achieve economic resilience, over come barriers and live with dignity.The Need
A disheartening reality looms over Tanzania, where more than 50% of young women and girls grapple with poverty, significantly hindering their personal growth, societal progress and perpetuating a cycle of dependency, gender-based violence, and increased vulnerability to HIV infections.The Solution
Girls Agency empowerment through instilling self-efficacy & amplifying their voice to advocate for their rights. Skills development on production & value addition chain of goods and services. Linkages to resources forge connections between young women with financial institution & philanthropists.Our Impact
To date, we have uplifted over 20,000 young women & girls with entrepreneurship skills, setting up new businesses, digitizing their businesses & linkages to capital. Over the next 5 years, we hope to impact 100,000 young girls and women to live free of violence and access HIV treatment.Her Initiative’s work is well recognized and awarded for its work supporting women and girls.
